Wairarapa College scored a penalty strokes win over Rotorua Boys' High in their Rankin Cup national secondary schoolboys match in Rotorua on Wednesday.
The two teams were level pegging at 1-1 at the end of ordinary time and it was Wairarapa College who held their best in the penalty shootout, converting five of their attempts into goals, while Rotorua Boys' only managed three.
St Matthew's Collegiate had a 7-4 win over Marion College at the Federation Cup national secondary schoolgirls tourney in Christchurch, with Jenna Anderson scoring three of the goals.
Wairarapa College were not so lucky, losing to St Cuthberts 3-2.
