Wainwright cancels

Canadian singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright's tour of New Zealand and Australia has been cancelled because of a family illness, tour promoters say.

Wainwright was to have performed at the International Arts Festival in Wellington on February 27, as well as doing solo shows in Auckland and Christchurch. He plans to tour both countries before the end of the year.
