Wainuiomata house destroyed in suspicious fire

Charges are likely after fire destroyed a house in Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt, police say.

A house on the corner of Wise and Norfolk Streets was well ablaze when firefighters arrived at 6am yesterday.

Detective Sergeant Mike Sears told NewstalkZB the 61-year-old female occupant was being spoken to and was likely to face related charges.
