Waimate crash victim named

Police have released the name of a teenager who died as a result of a
crash yesterday on State Highway 1 south of Waimate yesterday.

He has been identified as 18-year-old Tony Kelvin Wood.

Wood was a passenger in a car heading south when it collided with a horse truck at the north end of the Waitaki River bridge about 12.20pm yesterday.

The driver of the car, also 18, is still in critical condition in Dunedin Hospital.
