A South Waikato teacher is under investigation for an alleged affair he had with a 17-year-old pupil.
PE teacher Ryan Emery, who is in his thirties, resigned from Putaruru College earlier this month, after principal Mike Ronke received a complaint from the girl's mother in April.
A Waikato Times report says the affair started last year when the teen was in her final year of school.
The newspaper quoted a source at the school as saying Emery had described the allegations as all lies, and his wife is standing by him.
