Waikato sportsman on assault charges bailed

A 20-year-old Waikato sportsman on assault charges has been granted bail.

The man, whose name is suppressed, is charged with injuring with intent to injure and assault, the Waikato Times reported.

The charges relate to two complainants and follow an incident in Hamilton early this year.

Police will consider diversion while the man is on bail. He will reappear in Hamilton District Court in May.
