Waikato police are appealing for motorists to slow down after eight crashes in the district since 8am today.
One crash saw a car career into a Newcastle Rd, house at 12.30pm.
Waikato police district command centre Senior Sergeant Pete van de Wetering said the female driver and her two-year-old driver were not injured.
Mr van de Wetering said it was pure luck the drivers had only suffered minor injuries or none at all as rain saturated the area for the first time in weeks.
"It's just people clearly not driving to the conditions and they are severe. We're just appealing to the public to be patient and slow down."
