Waikato iwi Ngati Haua and Ngati Koroki Kahukura's final Treaty settlements passed into law today.
About 100 iwi members were at Parliament today to see the bills passed and greeted the unanimous votes with a waiata from the public gallery.
Eastern Waikato iwi Ngati Haua's negotiator Alan Gillett said the occasion "means a great deal for us".
"It means we can start planning our future as an iwi.
"We didn't get everything we wished back in the bill but as we say in our language, a little bit is OK."
