Andrew Williams has every reason to feel that he has been singled out.
The 17-year-old rugby player is the sole selection from Wairarapa to be picked for the Hurricanes secondary schools training camp and trial this year.
The Wairarapa College student has been playing rugby since he was 5 and was "pretty stoked" to receive the news. "It was one of my goals for the year," he said.
Although from Dannevirke, Williams has been boarding at the college for the past three years.
He has been in the Wairarapa College 1st XV since he started at the school.
"I've played reps for Wairarapa Bush since I've been here," he said.
Although he usually plays centre, Williams says he will probably trial on the wing or at fullback.
He has stuck to his usual routine of rugby practices, but has undertaken a few more sessions at the gym in preparation.
The training camp will be held at Feilding Agricultural High School next week over three days, but he is not too sure what to expect.
"I guess it'll be balls skills and working as a team," he said.
If Williams makes the team, he will then be part of a tournament against the Chiefs, Blues and South Island teams.
