Voter numbers in South Auckland are the lowest across the entire Super City as the deadline for returning ballot papers looms.
Auckland Council is targeting disengaged voters in the region by putting a special voting booth into Westfield shopping mall at Manukau.
An electoral officer will be present to organise special votes for those who are not on the electoral roll, and helping people who have not received their papers.
The booth will be on the ground level of the mall from 3-6pm today.
Electoral officer Dale Ofsoske said there are many reasons why a person may have not yet voted, including not updating their details when moving house or being on the unpublished roll, where their details are unable to be provided.
