Judicial recounts will not affect the last date by which the new Parliament has to sit - November 18.
Parties have until Wednesday, October 5, three working days after the final result is declared, to file applications with the District Court for judicial recounts of electorate or party votes.
Applications are automatically granted and have to start within three working days of being received.
But a spokeswoman for the Chief Electoral Office said the November 18 deadline for Parliament to sit did not change regardless of whether recounts delayed things.
