Not every vote has been counted across the country but at least a dozen electorates across New Zealand officially know who their elected MP is.
100 per cent of the votes have been counted for electorates Dunedin North, East Coast Bays, Kaikoura, Nelson, New Plymouth, Northcote, Rangitata, and West Coast Tasman.
Standouts include the election of a new MP for Helensville - Chris Penk - who has taken over the old stomping ground of former Prime Minister John Key.
National's Nathan Guy, Jonathan Coleman, Nick Smith and Simon Bridges have retained their seats.
Electorates who are just inches away from a full count include Ohariu - where new entrant Greg O'Connor is leading with more than 14,000 votes.
