Vodafone will not be asking the Warriors or their fans to "abstain for the game" during the grand final this weekend.
Last month, All Blacks sponsor Telecom rain into controversy when it was revealed it was planning a light-hearted "abstain for the game" campaign during the Rugby World Cup tournament.
Telecom subsequently canned the idea, which asked supporters to avoid sex during the tournament, after a public outcry.
Instead of abstinence, Vodafone has created a "share your support" campaign so fans on any mobile can get behind the team.
It is asking all New Zealanders to send in their messages for the Warriors via their Facebook page, which Vodafone will compile into a video to show to the players before their game on Sunday night.
