Vodafone cellphones in central Wellington office buildings have reportedly experienced being cut off from services.
IT worker John McElhiney said everyone at his office on the Terrace had been unable to connect to the Vodafone network since early yesterday afternoon.
"When I called Vodafone business customer service they claimed they were unaware of any network issues. They tried to blame my phones," Mr McElhiney said.
Vodafone spokeswoman Michelle Baguley said the problem had been "degradation" in a sector of one cell site and had affected 3G services at three addresses on the Terrace.
The area's 2G services had not been affected and all services were restored after a reboot, Ms Baguley said.
She did not elaborate on what had caused the "degradation", saying it was now fixed and would have only affected a small number of customers.
