Hundreds of people visited private town and country gardens in Carterton last weekend on a self-drive tour to raise money for Carterton School.
Visitors were invited for an insider's look at 10 Carterton homeowners' gardens, some of which sold tea and coffee and gave guided tours of their property.
Carterton School principal Alison Woollard was grateful people opened their gardens for the fundraiser.
"It's really special to get to see things you wouldn't normally see," she said.
"People put so many hours into their gardens here and it means a lot to have people just open up their gardens for us, it's just amazing. And some of the gardens are absolutely magical. As I was going around with my husband I was saying, how lovely it was to share your passion with other people like this."
