Wairarapa were facing an uphill struggle after the first day's play in their Hawke Cup qualifying round cricket match with Hawkes Bay in Napier on Saturday.
Batting first Wairarapa were all out in 50 overs for a paltry 126. Joe Hull top-scored with 40 made off 75 balls and including four fours while Tim Lucas (23), Henry Cameron (14), Alex Treseder (14) and Nash Patel (11) also made it into double figures.
