A vintage twin-engined plane carrying nine people crash-landed at Ohakea Air Base near Palmerston North this morning.
Ohakea Base public information officer Paul Stein told NZPA the plane, a De Havilland Devon, crashed about 10.20am on the runway after calling in an emergency landing.
Nobody was injured.
"It did a belly-flop ... and there's a little bit of wreckage still on the runway," he said.
Mr Stein said the plane had come from Hamilton and was on its way to Wellington.
