An hour-long vigil is planned along East Coast beaches on Sunday to protest against planned oil exploration off the coast.
Opposition to the recent Government announcement of an exploration deal with Brazilian oil giant Petrobras has taken place primarily online.
However, protest organiser Ani Pahuru-Huriwai, from Hicks Bay, said the idea was for people to stand shoulder to shoulder between noon and 1pm.
