A small group of protesters held an overnight vigil outside the Auckland Central Remand Prison calling for the release of Algerian Ahmed Zaoui.
The vigil, organised by various church groups, justice and peace campaigners was due to end at midday today.
Mr Zaoui was cleared by the Refugee Status Appeals Authority of links to terrorism but is still awaiting the outcome of an appeal against a Security Risk Certificate issued against him on the basis of the secret SIS information.
