Victim missing after hit and run

Police are looking for a stolen car, its driver, and the victim of a hit-and-run incident today in South Auckland.

About midday a witness reported seeing a blue 1991 Ford Telstar, registration TS5557, hit a woman pedestrian on Prestons Road, Otara, Senior Sergeant Andrew Berry said.

Police had been unable to find the victim, the car, or the driver, Mr Berry said.

"We're appealing for sightings of that vehicle."

He said police had few details about the victim and her condition.

"We have concerns for her safety."

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to call 111.
