The woman who died in a two-car crash on a bridge near Eketahuna, north of Masterton has been named as 46-year-old Nicola Dawn Dryden.
The Masterton local died in the crash yesterday morning, after the car she was in crashed into another and was trapped on Anzac Bridge on SH 2, south of Eketahuna.
The other woman travelling with her was seriously injured, while the driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.
Driving conditions in the area at the time were reportedly difficult as a result of the bad weather.
Police this morning said the serious crash unit was investigating the circumstances of the crash and it would be referred to the coroner.
