Vets host Manor Park team

Results from July 5 and 6

Vets: Tuesday the vets hosted the vets from Manor Park. As far as possible a Carterton member was teamed with a member from Manor Park. The competition was a combined Stableford.
The first pair home were Gay Martin and Max Baylis with 76 points, followed by Trevor Clayton and Chris Connor 74, Peter Brooks and Ron Lukies also with 74, Garth Ramsden and Bob Walker 73, Bob Allen and Ray Morris 71, Gavin Newport and Garry Smith 69, Gordon Asbridge and Ian Brinkworth 68, Trevor Chandler 68 and Noel Dalziel and Bill Shakespeare 67. Holes in two were scored by Peter Brooks, Chris Connor and Noel Dalziel. NTP #15 was Chris Connor and NTP #10 Peter Brooks.
Women: Wednesday was the Midweek Cup and Amy Goodin Salver round four. The winner with a nett 72 was Miria Te Tau on a count back from Margaret Thompson. They were followed by Val Willis 74, Gay Martin 75, Barbara Birchall 76, Sue Ross 77 and Yvonne Baylis 78. Carterton New World NTP Shirley Carew, All Teed Up Yvonne Baylis and the Clareville Nursery NTP was not struck.
For the rest of the week the only winner was the weather, which resulted in the Saturday Club Competition being cancelled. I am not sure whether there were any brave souls who ventured out, but there are always one or two who let nothing get in the way of their weekly round.
