A vegetable truck is in the process of being craned off State Highway One near Wellington after it rolled in the Ngauranga Gorge this morning.
The incident happened at about 5am as the truck was on its way to a market, causing vegetables to spill across the road and forcing the closure of southbound lanes, said police.
Occupants of the truck were uninjured.
Heavy lifting equipment was brought in to remove the vehicle from the road and a clean-up of the vegetables was underway.
Traffic was being diverted to Hutt Road.
