Latest figures from Statistics New Zealand show vegetables have skyrocketed by nearly 20 per cent
Peter Silcock from Horticulture New Zealand says it's a natural seasonal influence.
He says prices usually go up in September because it's the middle of winter.
Mr Silcock says supply from overseas growers is also a factor.
