Police are investigating a spate of property damage at Masterton schools they are blaming on teenagers.
Senior Sergeant Jymahl Glassey said vandals had attacked Masterton Intermediate School, St Patrick's School and UCOL Wairarapa over the last couple of weekends.
Mr Glassey said the damage included smashed windows and smashed vehicles, but nothing had been stolen. "We believe it's youths or young adults that are hanging out, or drinking in these locations and damaging stuff as a pastime.
"Maybe it's [because of] school holidays and the majority of time it's happening is during weekends, during dark hours," he said.
Mr Glassey said police had increased their patrols in these areas over the last weekend.
