A man and woman have appeared in court and a second man is being sought over an alleged "vampire" attack in Wellington.
The trio have been charged with wounding with intent to render a man unconscious in relation to the bizarre attack in Mt Victoria, close to the city centre, on February 20, the Dominion Post reported.
The alleged victim told police he was bitten by three people and had his blood drunk. He is understood to have passed out after the attack.
James Phillip Brooks, 22, and Xenia Gregoriana Borichevsky, 19, appeared in Wellington District Court yesterday. A warrant was issued for the arrest of James Eric Orr, 19.
The three have not entered pleas and will reappear in court next month for a pre-committal evaluation hearing.
Police would not discuss any details of the case because it is before the courts.
