A head-turning Valentine's Day gesture came out of the blue for a retailer on Queen St yesterday afternoon.
Steve MacDonald, armed with a wide-brimmed hat and a bunch of flowers, saddled up his Clydesdale horse Lochie and trotted his way up Queen St to his partner's shop.
Kim Kenning, who works at OPSM, was called to the door to discover Mr MacDonald - and horse - ready with flowers and a kiss for Valentine's Day.
It was a "really sweet" moment for Ms Kenning, Carterton, who has been with Mr MacDonald for two years.
"It was out of the blue," she said, adding surprises like this were not usual for Valentine's.
