US tramper missing in top of South Island

Police are looking for an American tramper missing in the top of the South Island.

Edward (Ed) Dale Reynolds, 39, was believed to be tramping in the Nelson, Hanmer Springs and WestCoast regions, Senior Constable Chris Hughey of Hanmer police said.

He is 1.74m tall, about 75kg with short or shaved hair and glasses.

Police want to hear from anyone who sees him.
