Firefighters have put out a blaze which earlier caused part of central Upper Hutt to be cordoned off.
The Fire Service was called to the blaze on the 8th floor of the CBD Towers on Main Street late this afternoon, fire central communications shift manger Andrew Tollison said.
Eight pumping appliances, a couple of ladders and a number of specialist vehicles were in attendance at the height of blaze, Mr Tollison said.
Firefighters had put out the fire by about 6.45pm.
It was not known what caused the fire.
Police had earlier blocked off Main Street between Pine Avenue and Geange Street while firefighters fought the blaze.
