Upgrade for Air Force Orions

The Air Force's six Orion maritime patrol planes are to get an upgrade costing up to $350 million.

The upgrades will cover the Orions' mission system and communication and navigation equipment.

The mission systems will include new imaging radar gear, video and infrared cameras, and mission management systems.

The upgrades are due to be completed by the end of 2010.
