One worker's day was turned upside down after a trip to Auckland's Mt Eden went wrong. The worker, believed to be from Security First, drove up to enjoy the panoramic city views from the mountain's summit, which is almost 200m high.
But failure to engage the handbrake resulted in the worker watching aghast as the car tumbled into the deep crater.
An Auckland Council spokesman said the car was pulled out early yesterday afternoon. Mt Eden stayed open to pedestrians but was closed to vehicles while the car was removed, he said
"Apparently cars used to be dumped in the crater back in the day over 20 years ago, but nothing recently."
