KEY POINTS:
The University of Canterbury has accepted a students' association call to limit an across-the-board increase in domestic tuition fees for 2008 to 3.3 per cent.
Fees in a few areas would increase at a different rate, some of them lower and all of them within the limits of the fees course maxima regime, Vice-Chancellor professor Roy Sharp said yesterday.
The university had proposed a 4.5 per cent increase to absorb a shortfall in Government funding for 2008.
