Keeping a full complement of players on the field for the whole match would be something different for Anderson Meats Wairarapa United in their Capital Soccer premier division match with Upper Hutt at Upper Hutt tomorrow.
Remarkably, Wairarapa United have had a player sent off in each of their last seven games, but coach Phil Keinzley is at pains to deny that his side go out of their way to flout the rules pertaining to fair play.
"Nobody could ever say we are a dirty team??.it's more that we do silly things and pay the price for it," he said. "It's not a good reflection on the players though, any misconduct shows a lack of discipline and it has cost us."
Wairarapa United currently lie third on the competition table and probably need to win one of their last three games to retain that position , and with it possible promotion to the central league in 2007.
And with Upper Hutt lying third to bottom on the points table the required victory should come tomorrow, although Keinzley is paying scant attention to the 6-2 win. his side had over Upper Hutt the last time they met.
Firstly, because Upper Hutt have shown considerable improvement since then, and will be on their home ground, and secondly, because Wairarapa United have been struggling in recent games to show anything like their best form.
"They (Upper Hutt) are an enthusiastic lot who get stuck in from the word go, and we can't take anything for granted against them," he said. "We have more quality players for sure but that only counts if everybody is operating on the same wave length."
Their Cook Islands international goalkeeper Tony Jamieson will be missing from the Wairarapa United side tomorrow. He was sent from the field last weekend and his place will be taken by Charles Kendall.
