It has not all been all bad news for Wairarapa United's premier football side over the past couple of weeks.
A surprise 3-1 loss to Hutt in a Central League fixture was followed by a 1-0 Chatham Cup defeat at the hands of Napier City Rovers, the club they beat 2-1 in the final of the knockout competition last year.
In between times, however, Wairarapa United celebrated success at the Sport Wellington regional sports awards, where they were named Team of the Year, a distinction largely earned through their Chatham victory. This month Wairarapa United were dual winners at the Wairarapa sports awards and took out both the Team of the Year and Supreme Champion trophies.
