New Zealander Russell Stanners, who has worked for IBM for the last 15 years, has returned from the United States to become managing director of Unisys New Zealand.
Mr Stanners was based in New York as IBM's director of telecom solutions, where he was global leader of IBM's solutions business in the telecommunications market. He has held a number of senior positions with IBM including director customer care, billings and operations solutions; and Asia Pacific solutions executive where he implemented centres of competency in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Japan.
Mr Stanners has a bachelor of commerce from Auckland University, majoring in accountancy, investment and marketing. Ron Frankenfield, managing director of Unisys Australia, has taken on the additional role of general manager, South Pacific.
* Dynstay Hotel Management Ltd has promoted Peter Chamberlain, the general manager of The Heritage Auckland Hotel and Tower, to chief operating officer for the entire group. He will be responsible for all Heritage hotels in Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown, as well as CityLife hotels in Auckland and Wellington.
* Adam Jones has joined the Phobic Trust as marketing manager/fundraiser. He will focus on the aim of opening a respite unit in St Lukes, and coordinating key events. He was in a management role in a health sector employment consultancy.
* Dan Sawyer has returned to executive recruitment consulting after an absence of 18 months, joining Drake Executive in Auckland as an associate. He has been involved in running his own business, following his time in HR at Price Waterhouse Management Consultants, where he specialised in executive selection and assessment.
* John Willson is to manage the operations of corporate travel group, Biztrav Business Travel, based in Auckland. He was business development manager for the House of Travel in Auckland and Wellington following its merger with AA Travel. Before that he was corporate development manager for New Zealand for AA Travel.
