A union representative is expected to arrive in Greymouth today to monitor the Department of Labour's investigation into the death of West Coast miner Bernard Green.
The 47-year-old was killed on Friday when a shaft collapsed at the Roa mine, near Blackball.
Department of Labour spokeswoman Margaret Radford said inspectors would spend the next two days interviewing the miners working on site at the time of the accident.
