Additional Taskforce Green funding has being allocated by the Government to help the clean up in flood-stricken Northland.
Social Development Minister David Benson-Pope says funding will cover the employment of workers and supervisors.
He says workers will be recruited from the unemployment register, students, and people displaced from their regular jobs because of the floods.
He says the funding package also includes help for local authorities, such as light equipment and safety gear.
