A 30-year-old man has died after being pulled from Wellington Harbour this afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to Eastbourne, where the man was pulled out of the water unconscious about 3.45pm.
The man has since died in Wellington Hospital, police said later today.
A Wellington Free Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was with friends when the incident happened.
"His friends pulled him from the water and started CPR, assisted by one of our call-takers, until Wellington Free paramedics and Fire Service arrived,'' she said.
