Unconscious man found outside police station

A 19-year-old man is in intensive care after being found unconscious outside a police station last night.

The man was taken to Palmerston North Hospital after being found with serious head injuries outside the Foxton Police Station about 11pm.

He has since been flown to Wellington Hospital's intensive care unit.

The man's identity had been established, but next of kin were yet to be informed, police spokeswoman Kim Perks said.

Police have called for anyone with information about how the man was injured to contact them.
