The sister of an Australian man who collapsed and died at a South Canterbury ski field has expressed the family's gratitude to Ohau Lodge Staff.
Constable Nayland Smith says emergency services were called to Ohau Ski field on Friday afternoon where Phillip Evers was complaining of chest pains.
He says the 52-year-old's condition deteriorated and he collapsed while in the first aid room and couldn't be revived.
Mr Evers was on holiday with his family from Australia and sister from Wellington.
His sister says they wished to express their gratitude to Ohau Lodge Staff for their compassion and assistance, as well as to all emergency personnel who attended.
