Olympic cyclist Sarah Ulmer is among 10 people appointed to an expert group to make roads safer for cyclists.
The New Zealand Transport Agency made the appointments to develop recommendations in a review of cycling safety by Coroner Gordon Matenga.
The panel is expected to meet for the first time next month and will aim to deliver its findings by the end of September.
The 10 members are: Richard Leggat (chairman), Bike NZ; Sarah Ulmer, Olympic gold medallist; Marilyn Northcotte, Pedal Ready cycle training; Mike Noon, Automobile Association; Dr Hamish Mackie, human factors specialist; Dr Alexandra Macmillan, environmental health lecturer; Professor Alistair Woodward, Professor of epidemiology and biostatistics; Axel Wilke, traffic engineer and planner; Dr Glen Koorey, transportation engineering senior lecturer.
