KEY POINTS:
London police have released a description of a man they believe dumped the handbag belonging to Hawke's Bay woman Catherine Marlow on the afternoon of her murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Damian Allain said today an eyewitness saw a man dump her handbag in a bin.
The man was described as Caucasian, aged between 25 and 35-years-old, about 1.77m tall, slim, with short dark hair and stubble.
He was scruffily dressed in a dark top with a round neck and long sleeves and dark trousers.
The eyewitness said the man's appearance was dishevelled and he appeared agitated and nervous.
Mr Allain appealed to the man to come forward.
He earlier described the discovery of the handbag in a south London street as a major breakthrough which he expected to produce a "goldmine" of forensic evidence.
Miss Marlow, 28, who was raised in Hastings and had been living in London since 2004, was found dead at her office in South London on January 13.
Police said she died of asphyxiation, but refused to give further information.
A 28-year-old work colleague, who found her body and called police, was arrested at the scene and later released without charge.
A second man has pleaded guilty to the theft of her credit card and remanded in custody for sentence, and a third man arrested late last week was released on bail.
