A small British league club says it has found the car it loaned to one of its players - racking up a £1500 ($4155) parking bill at Manchester Airport after the driver shot through to New Zealand to become a policeman.
Pat Weisner moved in May to start a new life after a bitter split with Cumbrian club Barrow Raiders, the Manchester Evening News reported.
But the club car he left at the airport - a Rover worth only £700 - sat for 54 days in a £26.50-a-day carpark, until he posted the keys back.
Airport staff, who with police found the Rover among 20,000 vehicles at the terminal, have waived the fees.
