UCOL goes on the road

UCOL Wairarapa is hitting the road in a bid to make it easier for prospective students to start classes halfway through the year.

A green UCOL bus usually used for a bus driver training qualification has a new temporary mission to help prospective students discover more about the programmes on offer, UCOL director of student experience Karyn Thomson said.

The bus will make a series of stops that will service UCOL campuses in Wanganui and Palmerston North as well, she said.

"People will be able to complete the full enrolment process on board the bus, and get any information they need," Ms Thomson said.

"Mobile enrolment is about getting out there, to wider areas than normal. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to find out about the education options they're interested in," she said.

Ms Thomson said all prospective students who board the bus have the option to go in the draw to win an iPad mini and the bus journey can be tracked on the UCOL Facebook page or #UCOLgreenbus.

The UCOL bus will take passengers at a series of stops in Wairarapa on July 12. The stops include: The Square in Martinborough from 9am to 10am; opposite the skate park in Featherston from 10.30am to 11.30am; outside the Kuranui College entrance in Greytown from 12pm to 1pm; and at the old Wairarapa Plumbing site in Masterton from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
