U11 hockey girls easy victors in final

Wairarapa scored a comfortable 5-0 victory over Wanganui in the final of their regional under-11 girls hockey tournament played in Napier last week.
Up 2-0 at halftime they were never in danger of defeat, adding a further three goals to their tally in an impressive second spell performance.
Sarah Marfell scored three of the goals with the other two going to Harriet Gibson.
Earlier Wairarapa had been involved in a nail-biting semi-final encounter with Taranaki A which they won 1-0 thanks to a goal in the last five minutes of play by Alexia Wales.
