Two men were seriously injured in a logging accident in a forest in the Coromandel this afternoon.
Both the Waikato Rescue Helicopter and the Auckland Rescue Helicopter were called to Whangapoua at the top of the Coromandel Peninsula.
A spokesman from the Auckland Rescue Helicopter said two men in their early 20s were seriously injured when they were hit by a log.
The men were winched out of the forest to a location where St John ambulance staff were able to treat them.
They were then taken to Waikato Hospital by the two helicopters.
