A person was trapped for two hours inside a vehicle involved in a head-on crash on the outskirts of Timaru last night.
Two people were taken to Timaru Hospital with serious injuries after two vehicles collided on the Timaru-Pareora Highway at 9.45pm.
A St John Ambulance spokesman said it took two hours to free one of the injured people who was trapped inside the wrecked vehicle.
A police spokesman said three people were travelling in the vehicles, with one person from each car needing to be freed by firefighters.
