A van and a motorbike have crashed in Coromandel, leaving two people with serious injuries.
The crash happened about 5.30pm, police said.
Diversions are in place at State Highway 25 and SH25a, and motorists are asked to avoid the area or delay travel if possible.
A St John spokeswoman said the ambulance service was called at 5.25pm and two helicopters had been sent to the scene.
Two crash victims had been choppered to Auckland Hospital, one in a critical condition and one in a serious condition.
