Two serious crashes have blocked different parts of State Highway 1 in Northland.
A serious crash involving a car and a truck on SH1 Ruakaka near Prescott Rd trapped and seriously injured a person at about 2pm today. The crash blocked the road.
The crash involved a car and a truck near the Prescott Rd and SH1 intersection.
Police northern communications spokesman Inspector Peter Raynes said another person involved in the crash was in a moderate but stable condition. The northbound lane of SH1 was partially blocked and detours were in place. St John ambulance, police and the fire service were all in attendance.
Shortly after the crash near Prescott Rd another serious crash happened on SH1 near Oruawharo Rd, just north of Te Hana.
