Two mountainbikers got an extra adventure at the weekend when they were airlifted to Wellington Hospital after separate crashes.
Westpac rescue helicopter spokesman Jon Leach said that in the first incident, in Big Bay in the Marlborough Sounds, a man crashed off his bike, breaking a leg.
In the second, yesterday morning, a 17-year-old Upper Hutt youth suffered a head injury and multiple abrasions when he came off his bike on the Rimutaka Incline.
